Yes I understand that, but it is not a republic due to public consensus, and in the original documents laying out the structure of government, nowhere was it suggested that corporations should have the same rights as people, or that the wealthy should be allowed to buy the loyalty of the representatives.

I can't imagine how insular you think America is, if you consider the fate of the world's largest economy, the largest tech innovator, the owner of the internet, the world's largest drug producer, the world's largest military, and a global contributor to pollution is of no concern to the entire planet.

  14. Did I say I wanted Hillary to be president? They were both despicable, but comparing her to Trump is like comparing a schoolyard thug to Michael McVey. She was dishonest, manipulative and greedy. But at least she was competent, knowledgeable and experienced. Seeing how Trump has already behaved in his first few days should be enough to send chills down the spine of the entire planet.

On his  first day he cancelled mortgage relief for the poor, and took all mention of climate change and social programs from the government web site. Within a week he has declared sanctions on nations that offer abortions to US women, declared his intent to reinstate the Dakota pipeline and Keystone XL, and cancel vital health coverage for millions of Americans, shifted the cost for his wall to the US tax payer, said that he will never release his taxes, attacked his own intelligence services, and used his first official press conference to challenge estimates for the number of people at his inauguration. You wanna talk research, WTF have YOU got? Trump is a dangerous, pitifully insecure lunatic and a world class scumbag, and if you don't see that, I'm amazed that you're smart enough to breath in and out let alone operate a computer.
