  1. Foreign people of ALL races and cultures are welcome so long as they ADD to the richness of British culture, rather than detracting from it. However, there are some values about being decent towards each other, working for a living, not imposing your religious beliefs, and treating women and children with respect, that are a fundamental part of British working class culture. If you don't share those values, adopt them as soon as you arrive, or don't bother coming. Black, white, brown, oriental, or any other ethnicity - all are welcome and will be treated with kindness and compassion by the vast majority of Britons. Every nation has its xenophobes and racists, but they are just a very vocal, but tiny minority.

  2. Brits were never against the immigration of hard working, respectful honest people no matter where they came from. However, seeing our social services taken advantage of, even whilst some of those very same immigrants preach hate towards us: THAT is what we find unacceptable.

  4. Islamaphobia is a term made up to delegitimise justified fear of Islam. And yes, the site is anti-Muslim (a sane position for any rational human being IMO) but the article is cited to a reputable news source. And I do not suggest that the man was being pleasant. But if I make a rude comment about Harry Potter, or Man U fans, it's not an arrestable offence, so why do Muslim feelings get special snowflake protection? And we most certainly DO tolerate Muslim fundies. There are plenty of photos of British Muslims running protests with incredibly hateful rhetoric. There is NO WAY Brits are allowed to get away with the same thing any more. If the Rotherham enquiry has shown us anything, it's that people - even police at the highest levels - are shit scared of offending Muslims, or being labelled as racists.

Xenophobia was the entirely predictable consequence of an open borders policy enforced upon us by unelected powers beyond our own borders, and by a succession of overly liberal governments who put the well being of economic migrants ahead of the social welfare of British people who spent their lives contributing to a system that can no longer support them. If you'd sat down and carefully planned out a system designed to create xenophobia, you could hardly have done better. Add a dash of Islamic terrorism and the formula was complete.

  9. This woman was not exactly fired. She had her airport work permit withdrawn after a customer misheard her and reported her for making anti-Islamic comments. To call it a firing is a little misleading.   11. Unfortunately, this is the direction that political correctness, and worse still, fear of Islamic retribution has taken the nation. If that fear is justified, then we should be writing articles like this every day, and if it is not, then allow a space for counter opinions and allow the lens of history and public opinion be the judges.
