It amazes me that any lorries are allowed onto our soil without being extensively searched first. But for anyone saying Brexit would stop this, no it would only make it worse as legal routes into Britain are closed.

@elaine.crissy.t2112 So you're saying that illegal immigrants would be suddenly obey Britain's border controls if Britain was no longer a member of Europe? How would that work then? Would we suddenly have more money for border control? Would the staff be more dilligent? Would we not accept lorries bringing gooods to this country?

Mick Burns Sorry Mick but WHO is saying Britain should have open borders? I've never seen the most radical liberal suggest that. Certainly as a member of Europe we needed to allow free travel of EU members in return for a reciprocal arrangement in their countries. But nobody ever suggested (at least to my knowledge) that Britain should allow people from ANYWHERE to enter. And gun laws DO greatly reduce guns on the street.

@scratchmyarse6947 I agree with the first bit 100% and the spirit if not the draconian specifics of the second part. And how will Brexit help that given that Britain has ALWAYS had control over its own borders?
