I love you pointing out the contradiction of Fischer's science claim and the way he just talks about demons as though they're a scientific fact, but your case about the alien limb plays 100% into his argument. Nobody would suggest that someone with two arms has an arm too many. There is clearly a damaged psychological or physiological process at play, most likely with the body's self imaging "software".
