Yes, you're right. I still don't get the way it works sometimes.

I agree, it doesn't, which is why I responded to the comment above how I did.

But if that's the case - and I certainly don't accept that in the vaaaast majority of cases it is - it's men who are being the assholes by weakening their own corporations simply because they're horny. And what if you're not a woman who has that advantage - older, less attractive, whatever? BTW, I wasn't suggesting that women SHOULD use sex to climb the ladder - I was simply saying that they should not play by rules that disadvantage them.

But the ladder isn't even remotely fair, so why should women play by rules that favour men?

People like you are the reason there are so many atheists.

The workplace is still primarily run by men, jobs are still primarily allocated by men, and mysogeny still rules many companies. They can make all the legislation thety like, but ultimately, as long as males are making the decisions, and hold most of the power, the workplace is less favourable for women. You only have to look at the wage gap to see that.

I dunno what companies you're talking about, but yu make it sound like men have to play russian roulette to progress. Perhaps in the very most competitive careers, but for most, competence, hard work, and loyalty all count for most of the promotion.

So you speak for all women? You're like an uncle Tom to the civil rights movement - you think just because you have it good that you can speak up in defence of the oppressors. Unless you understand the full scope of what's going on, it would be best if you didn't undermine the efforts of those fighting for the rights of women not gifted with your vigorous spirit.

I would add that just because you know exceptional women who can achieve what they want, it in no way changes the fact that women are still paid less, and find it harder to get promoted than identically qualified male counterparts. As for Rowling, the world of writing bears no resemblance to the normal working world, although I accept that her life story may indeed be inspiring in other ways.
