  1. So things change. Just like they've always changed. Big whoop. the gramophone industry, stocking manufacturing, CRT TVs, Commodore, Sinclair, Amiga, Atari, it's absolutely nothing new. Far more interesting is the point you touched upon, is that of low or zero cost manufacturing. 3 printers are just the start - nano manufacturing will be the real game changer, as will the  end of oil extraction, and massive sea level rise that finally makes it impossible to continue burning fossil fuels. The natural evolution of industry is one thing, the  unnatural evolution of the planet is quite another.
