One detail of E-Boats I recall is that they were lousy AAA platforms, which made running into RAF or USAAF aircraft rather one sided.

@WALTERBROADDUS I was paraphrasing an old Osprey Guide to them, but the point was that they were poor AA gun platforms re' stability, which by late war when the allies had increasingly more numerous, fast, long ranging and heavily armed aircraft... the E Boats had better odds of surrviving from manoeuvring & trying to throw off the pilot's aim, than they had of downing the attacker. Similar situation with Submarines, except that the Germans had always known that crash diving was the best option.

@WALTERBROADDUS Given the U Boat arm of the Kriegsmarine had the highest loss rate of the war... being stationed to E Boats was less of a death sentence at least 😅 .

Every home should have one 😌👌

I can just picture the Battlecruiser laughing, adjusting aim and deleting the boats from existence 😂 . Ironically also one of the few opponents a MTB couldn't outrun.

@stepanbandera5206 A very superficial reading of what I stated 🙄 . (and nope; no video games involved; I was into naval history back in the 16 bit era, long before WoW or WT 😝) The point is that various Battlecruisers and a few of their Fast-Battleship successors hit the higher 30's of knots (making the speed difference less than one would think), when combined with the Capital Ships having superior sea keeping, being better gun platforms, and a maximum range of upto 25 miles as time went on. If caught within visual range of a Battlecruiser or Fast Battleship, a PT Boat would be unlikely to get away, and comically outmatched in a fight. That; and bare in mind even Destroyers have killed PT Boats without firing a shot (look up how one JFK was on was cleaved in half, leaving the crew to swim to a nearby island).
