Even a broken clock is right twice a day. The Daily Mirror is little more than a labour party propoganda bullhorn.

^ If only you were saying that sarcastically; it'd be brilliant XD. As it is; my pity is all you'll get. Oh; and the DM is one of the least sensible tabloid rags :P .

BSE was exponentially worse than the PRC Flu; as the fatality rate was 100%, vs less than 1%.
6
The worst tabloid by quite a long way* .

^ Oh pl~ease: The Sun is a rag; but I'd rank it above the trashfire that is The Daily Mirror, The Guardian, The Morning Star, and various others. ""The Independent"" isn't a tabloid; but certainly worse than TS, and without a doubt Britain's most ironically-named Newspaper.
3
^ You're entitled to think so; but I do not agree.
3
@timonuotio6395 Well... some of them certainly were; still was a lot of gutter press back then though.

Yup. Socialism has repeatedly ruined many a S-American economy. Argentina just gets less coverage thereon than Cuba or Venesuela.

Videla was an odd one. The junta dodn't tackle the excessive welfare programs and heavy taxation started by Peron that had ruined the economy in the first place. If he was "right wing" he wasn't very good at it.

It's commonly known as a dirty war, because it was exactly that. The leftwing armed groups were also a real threat to public order, as shown by their murdering sprees of public officials. The junta did however extend their brutal methods to basically anyone they deemed inconveniant though, such as the french civi's mentioned.
2
Then we disagree. Everyone calls it a dirty war, and it was, as niether side refrained from playing dirty.

Ironically the end result of BSE and Foot & Mouth is that British Cattle are now the most disease free in Western-Eurasia, and subject to much higher standards than any other on UK shelves. (because essentially the gov' ultimately decided to go dalek on the remaining cattle stock and start over from scratch) A lesson that could have struck anywhere that was trying said dodgy animal feed method; that hopefully all 200+ nations can learn from.

Misuse of the word England. Ding Seriously though: There hasn't been an actual King/Queen of England (or Scotland), since 1707. Had the Stuart Dynasty had their way; there wouldn't have been since 1603.
1
One missed detail of note is that the Queen Anne's Revenge was originally a British armed merchantman, built in Bristol around 1710. (being then lost to french privateers, before her capture by Blackbeard years after) Some doubt remains as to this origin, but no alternative home country has been suggested nor proven thus far (as far as I know).

As someone with a relation of the same first name... this was chillingly familiar -_- . (but over a year too late to be much use as a prediction)
1
Yup. He briefly skirted the Trades Discriptions Act with that country conquering endorsement XD.
1
^ Amusing, and possibly true too.
1
^ Ahahahaha~HAHAHAHA~ ...you Serious?

^ Vacuous reply is vacuous. Ding

^ "I thought" Oh surely not :P

Aye; since we were the first to lay claim to them, in 1690*; long before the state of Argentina existed. *Technically the Kingdom of England did; but successor states inherit such stuff.

Debatable. The leftwing armed groups were a real threat to public order, as shown by their murdering sprees of public officials. The junta however did extend their brutal methods to basically anyone they deemed inconveniant to the regime though, as illustrated by the murdered french civi's. It's commonly known as a dirty war, because it was exactly that.

South-Korea's solution to commies was cheaper; they just shot them out of hand. (their rationale was that socialism is a mental illness; and incurable)

Mao, Pol Pot & Stalin: "How Quaint."
1
Bit like socialism really... which as the latter has long emulated the former tis no surprise. (from being unscientific, to its core tenants being above criticism [usually under pain of death], and one worshipping a god whilst the other makes the state god; an entity to be worshipped)
