Of course social media has influence over society. Why is that bad? 3. Nowhere is there censorship. Nowhere are voices are removed. FB and Twitter have rules. When you join (and nobody is forced to join) you sign the agreement. It's a binding contract (the bases of any capitalistic system). If you break the rules, they kick you out. They can do that. You are in their house, on their servers, using their electricity, their efforts, their personnel. Just like you can set the rules in your house.
