Interesting! I'm not sure though how much of something inappropriate was about him socializing easily with kids. Danish author Hans Christian Andersen (The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid etc) is from the same time period, was also a dyslectic. He was also bullied in school, mostly for what he looked like with a face shape like a upside down pear with a long nose, and that seem to have affected him trough his life as he was rather lonely. He might also have been introverted as well. During that time socializing was more formal and surrounded by a rather high degree of rituals which probably could have been somewhat difficult for shy and/or introverted people who often tend to be less easy with a lot of "small talk" of courtsey.
