  1. Very astute, wasn't he. Get rid of the voice over and tacked-on ending, put back the Deckard-is-a-replicant-too twist that is the real ending, and there you go. Too bad he couldn't have reviewed the director's cut.

  2. Chinatown: theatrical release cut Final scene. Evelyn speeds away in her car. Shots are fired. Abruptly, it cuts to helicopter footage of wilderness scenery leftover from The Shining. Voiceover (Jake): "Well, she got away. And that was that. It was a couple of months before I heard from her again. She had found a place to stay in Colorado. She was going to start a new life, she said. She wanted to thank me for everything I had done for her, that she would always owe me a debt of gratitude. I said hey, forget about it - it's Chinatown".
