Being neutral won't work anymore and it will not protect the country from the Aggressor. Finland and Sweden tried it for decades until recently when Russia threatens their border. Every country needs good allies in the dangerous world.

Harsh V. Pant? What the odd name for Professor. Anyway I think PM Modi is two-sided face and don't know the meaning of loyalty. What if China wedges between India and Russia? He might let off easy by the West in the short term but can he keep up in the long run?

That's wrong approach. Democratic country should encourage another to be democratic, having free election, freedom of speech and respect human rights, not dealing with authoritarian country such as Russia and China. Why must one feeding the monster to grow bigger?

@kameraldbahrul3432 I strongly disagree but that's your opinion. Are you aware that democracy is the best form of political system at the present. And you should aware more and more ordinary civilians from authoritarian or dictatorial countries are screaming for freedom, human rights and freedom of speech. Authoritarian or dictatorial governments want only power and corruption, and controlling the people's lives. India may be democratic country but doesn't respect the human rights such as more violence against women, rigid caste system and forced marriage. If it wants to function as democracy, it has to dismantle the caste system, ban the forced marriage and give women more rights and protection, but they chose not to. The point is democratic countries should not be neutral and encourage business with evil regimes. It will open the can of worms.
