  1. Just as you said "it seems" but it was not as simple. They had to endure as well as work like crazy to earn enough money to be able to cross Russia from the coast of the Pacific at the border with China, (which until recently still had Covid quarantine travel restriction) , and had to cross all Russia from the very extreme east to the extreme West at the border with Finland. That is not simple and should not seems simple to you either. However, not all of them were taken to the same cities or regions. Some of them were in the middle of Russia which is closer toward Europe than the far East.
