  13. Sea Shepherd TROLLS will never win over the truth! I once supported Sea Shepherd when I thought they were doing good things. Like who would not be in favor of saving the oceans? But then I realized much of Sea Shepherds stories were basically non factual propaganda constructed to lure money out of peoples pockets Yes, these islanders do kill and eat whales. I would not mind if they did not do so, but the arguments they have for what they are doing are valid, and I realized that ton of the arguments I was told by Sea Shepherd for being against the islanders prefered diet was simply bullshit For decades I was told the islanders just kill for fun, do not eat the food and the killing was just a ritual for the kids to pass into mannhood. Little did I and many of my friends know about the islanders except from what Sea Shepherd told me, but after a friend of mine from Belgium had been on the islands as a SS volunteer I was told that SO much of the stories Sea Shepherd had told him and us was basically few facts blended with a ton of lies in order to demonize these islanders. He quickly left Sea Shepherd and I have not given them a dime ever since I am glad a documentary like this finally is done, showing both sides, and for the first time showing the world that the islanders are not the crazy evil maniacs Sea Shepherds wants people to believe. I will never ever trust a word Sea Shepherd says again I will still support organizations like Amnesty and Greenpeace whom I find way more credible.

  61. Pigs are scientificually proven to be among the most intelligent being on this planet, yet people around the world, also in your country, gladly enslave them and mass murder millions of them. Every day. All in the name of money. If any humans are today to be labeled barbarians it is more likely to be the people of your country than those islanders. That is because the humans in your country, same as in mine by the way, embrace a culture where you enslave millions of animals under circustances that is painful, stress full and ends up with millions of them being killed in the name of money and none of them have ever had a chance of a life in their natural enviroment. Your culture is basically a killing factory driven by greed on money. It is super hypocrical for you to name call other cultures barbaric when in reality your own culture is among the worst this planet has ever experienced These islanders are naturally no angels. No humans are. But they at least prefer food that is not killed for money, but prefer the food from animals that actually had a good life. They do have supermarkets where you can buy our industrialized food, but the majority of the food they prefer to eat is local, organic food from animals that have not been enslaved or killed for money and that food actually had a real life in freedom and most of those animals will die in nature of natural causes, and those few that end up as food among that tiny group of islanders that food is not killed for money but shared freely and equally among the locals It is simply so 100% hypocritical for you to think your culture is so much better and super hypocritical to believe you have any higher moral ground to judge these islanders as barbarians. They are no angels, but the people there have shown to be far better for this planet than the self rightious people like you

  71. The problem is not hippies but more of opinions based on lack of information. The Nordic view on life in the Faroe Islands harmonises well in todays view of life in the Nordic, where living of local organic resources that all lived a good life is the way of the future. That hippi attitude was preached in the Nordic in the 1970s and still thrives in the Nordic countries, including the islands. The problem seems more the large number of people coming from cultures where they lack the understanding of the origin of their very own food. Most US and UK citizens are clueless and it does not help that kids are not thought about the origin of food in their school and news stories about food factories and slaughtering methods is not followed by images and videos actually showing the animals being slaughtered. All that is normal in the Nordic country. Censoring the origin of their food and everything that is associated with it, including the actual slaughter, has created a generation of ignorants especially in UK and USA who then bash some tiny groups of natives and try to lecture them how to live their life with nature, when the opposite should happen, since the nature people often live a life far more in balance with life than most of these city people in UK and USA Hippies is not a problem. Most Nordic people have a philosophy that resemboles the 1970´s hippies of love and harmony, including treating animals well, and these people understand that killing a animal is never a pretty sight, but the islanders here still treat animals better than rest of us, as they do not kill more than they need, kill effectively, and do not kill for money, but share the meat equally and freely and then let the rest of the animals roam freely in nature where most of them will die of natural causes.

  122. Hopefully you are aware of the fact that we rape animals and kill their babies in the industrialized world - daily! That is how we get milk. We rape the female cows to force them to produce milk that we than pump from them so we can sell their milk in stores and supermarkets. A side product of that is calfs where in average 99% of them are all killed by birth, because it is to expensive for the milk farmer to do anything else than focus on their speciality, which is milk producing. WHat these islanders do IS sustainable. The animals live in their natural enviroment. They do not get hunted! Only when a flock swims close to the islands, and only if a fisherman is nearby, and only if he evaluates the flocks and chances of gathering the flock and heard them to a suitable beach, only then does the flocks get hearded to the shores and slaughtered. The islanders DO NOT HUNT. They do not go out to search and hunt the whales! There is a big difference. The meat is then shared freely among the locals, and the meat is a vital source to protein and helps the islanders to be less dependant on having to import all their food from Europe. The food that they though have to import becomes among the most expensive food you ever seen, because of the small population and remoteness of the islands everything is super expensive there. In average the prices there are 50 % higher than in Denmark, and then is already ranked as the No 1 most expensive country in the European Union to buy foods. I know Sea Shepherd and alike like to over simplify and twist words in order to demonize these islanders, but the reality is that these islanders are not as terrible as SS wants people to believe.
