The bammans were voracious meat eaters and they had made provisions for it in their religious texts called Vedas, upanishads etc wherein it was written in detail as to how cow meat is to be served to the bammans as his fees for performing poojas etc. It is noticed that the bammans preferred the meat of the calf instead of the adults. There seemed two factors which led to the bammans turning to vegetarianism, first being the growing popularity of Buddhism which propagated non violence and vegetarianism and second was the decline in cow’s population…… Today also many bammans eat non veg in india and relish eating beef when abroad.

Vegetarianism in india gas nothing to do with piety or compassion towards animals but it’s a weapon of caste discrimination; these very vegetarians who generally belong to small oppressing castes like Bania & bammans will not like the majority Bahujans to turn vegetarian because than that will blur one of the line of caste distinction. The present ban on cow slaughter etc is merely to harass the Muslims and to bring the tenets of bammanical Hinduism in limelight as against the most tolerant & humane non-bammanical bhakti Hinduism ….

@ShubhamTiwari-mu8do : the essence of Buddhism is non violence hence practices such as vegetarianism are the logical outcomes and the only parallel to Buddhism’s non violence’s is found in Jainism. Vedic bammanism is all about violence ; even a cursory look at the images of their caste-loving-armed-to-the teeth gods is enough to understand what it stands for. The Havans are basically a type of TANDOOR and all the ingredients that are poured are ideal for roasting beef or meat. It’s known world over that cow beef is the most nutritious and tasty of all meat and so why wld the bammans who slyly positioned themselves as second to their gods wld settle for anything less. Threatened by the mass exodus towards the civilised and humane doctrine of Buddhism the bammans were forced to mend their crooked ways otherwise why would a cunning, casteist and violent bammans show selective piety towards animals while at the same time practice the worst form of discrimination against humans found anywhere on the globe …
