@jakthebomb So, fuel is cheaper,. Great, doesnt matter much if a charge wont last in an emergency, like being stuch for a few hours. We are willing to pay the extra for the increased reliability . It is worth it... Money is not everything.

Last winter, cars were stuck crossing mountains, severral times . So many stories about people in EVs surviving thanks to others having gas or diesel, and hence were able to keep their heat going for hours longer then the EVs. Noone here does a mountain crossing without a full tank, but heating an EV drains their " tank" far more than heating a regular car. They are a menace.

@MikeJones-mz5ig The problem is not the temperature, but how long they were stuck for. The EVs worked fine until their batteries ran flat. If all of them had EVs, some would have frozen to death.

For those that think lithium mining is nit a hazard of importance. The environmental fallout from lithium mining is clear and far-reaching. Massive quantities of fresh water, classified as a precious resource in these arid regions, are diverted for lithium mining operations, fueling the salt flats brine. This leaves local communities and wildlife parched. Sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide used in lithium extraction penetrate the soil and water, poisoning ecosystems and endangering species. Research from the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society shows that two flamingo species in Chile are threatened because of lithium mining. Deforestation, habitat destruction and water pollution further exacerbate the ecological toll. The delicate balance of nature is disrupted, which leaves long-lasting damage that takes generations to heal. The carbon dioxide and other greenhouse emissions that come with the process of lithium mining, extraction and overall production are worse for the climate than the production of fossil fuel-powered vehicles. A study from The Wall Street Journal in 2019 revealed that 40% of the total climate impact caused by the production of lithium-ion batteries comes from the mining process itself. And more. This is not better than oil, more so because it affects areas that have been left alone until now.. we need those areas as they are.

@MikeJones-mz5ig well, the fact that world does not have enugh raw material to make enough of them and keep them running, is a good reason to. The increase in childlabour to get them made at all, is a good reason. The fact that there will never be chargingpoints ( that are connected to a grid) all over the place. The insane time it takes to charge, making a holliday by car = a trip to the next town and back. The fact that they can catch fire at any time, abd burn for forever giving off very toxic fumes. The fact that children can be locked inside for a long time, if the battery flattens at the wrong moment ( has happened). There is a reason why people are returning to gas and diesel cars. And.. just because a gas/diesel CAN rn out of fuel( duh), when its cold, and you cant get anywhere,and if you have some firewood, you could use gas to help light it. If you have 5 cars that are low, one car could get it all and still work for everyone. Its ok, you found your love, I just dont agree with you:P

@Luka_3D It works well in cities:) Try living on the countryside, and you have maybe 2 busses, non of them works for your jobhours:)
