  1. Because they're "beautiful." Without the sentient observer, a mountain is not something beautiful, but just a piece of rock. To enjoy the landscape, you'd have to colonize anyway.

  2.  @Bister_Mungle  As the author of the video said, there are no ones on the moon to suffer from pollution. No animals, no biosphere at all.
