Well.. Vietnam when invaded by China 1979 was technologically inferior & smaller. Yet still the international sympathy goes to Vietnam. It's not just about size but fighting for a good cause. China's claim on various Southeast Asian countries' sea is illegal based on UNCLOS and China only insists on debatable "historical claim" (by that logic.. Italy can own the whole Mediterranean Sea) or "name" (by that logic India can also own Indian Ocean).

Chine peaceful of what? By building artificial islands & military bases illegally? LOL Recently China's "coast guard" harassed the supply to Philippines soldiers on the Sierra Madre outpost, angered India & Philippines (and Vietnam) with new territorial map, and last year even China protested when Indonesia conducted gas & oil exploration in Indonesia's own EEZ in North Natuna Sea.

Tibet, Uighurstan, Inner Mongolia, even Annam (Vietnam), then the lost of Nanman people are the example of land & massacre/population displacement by China.
