@himashisirimanne9331 agreed. When did china want to 'rule' you? Now look at the 'big brother' attitude your Northern neighbor has always given to you. And Indians 'helped' you with 3.5B, much of it is either loan deferment or credits to buy INDIAN GOODS.. Not cash. And they've been making a hell of a lot of noise about how they 'saved' SriLanka. NEVER accept anything from Indians. They will crow about it for 1000 years.

Next round, China should just not announce anything too much in advance. Just dock at hambantota and/or Columbo port with short notice to the srilankan authorities.

@mlg1279 oh please! IMF only released funds when all other creditors agreed. And oh, other countries have been helping srilanka much more over the years. Please fact check figures. Why do Indians keep wanting to usurp credit?

What's the issue? Anyway Chinese submarines roam the space between Hambantota and Gwadar on the way to Djibouti and the middle east all the time. India just doesn't know.

Palki and Indians lying again. Srilanka owes 10% of its external debt to China, not 20%. Indians are fast and loose with figures. 10% is still a lot lower than western institutions. India's share is 5%

@mlg1279 sure India helped but many other countries have helped over a long time.. Quietly. Indians always must make a huge deal out of any help they give. If you borrow a couple dollars from a friend and that friend keeps reminding you of his help, puts you down, keeps saying how he 'saved' you, expects you to kowtow and subdue to him... Is that cool? Look at your media and all the Indians commenting about that matter. How long has it been!?
