What if his first hand account was from an enemy? Anyway, I could definitely see prioritizing fire on a guy when you can see their clip fly out, or peaking out of cover when you hear a ping, because you know the other guy is reloading. You also have to consider tones when discussing destructive and constructive interference. But It does seem highly unlikely that it is an EXTREME detriment. The people who would have the most valuable opinion on the matter are either dead from the issue, or were the oposing force. This is the first time I have heard any of this, but myths are often not entirely based on nothing, even if it was merely an instance of one guy getting killed because the enemy could better time their shots or advances. As easy as it is to misattribute something because of the confusion of a situation it is also easy to wrongfully dismiss a concern due to the perception of that same confusion.
