  1. I don't necessarily think that YT censoring comments is a bad thing: in fact I wish it would happen more often. I first noticed it during the COVID lockdowns when misinformation and bizarre conspiracy theories were reaching fever pitch. Certain word combinations would simply result in comments not appearing after they had been posted. Fine. What I wish YT would now try to crack down on is scams and spam. Reporting comments of this kind seems to do nothing at all which renders the report feature utterly useless.

  2. I don't think that's the case at all. Seriously violent threats might be removed by YT if someone flags them up them, but I've reported plenty of scam comments, spam, anti-scientific nonsense, etc and it seems to have no impact whatsoever.
