  1.  @fuckfannyfiddlefart  Always love someone who throws the insults about and yet makes stupid comments. No the waters around the Channel Islands are UK waters out to 12 miles and further to median because they are Crown Dependencies. The waters are administered by the Channel Islanders but they rely on the UK for defence (and other matters). So they are UK waters administered by the Channel Island Governments. 'Dummy' 😂

  4. Everything to do with the EU and especially with France gets escalated to a 'war of words' as we have found many times since January. Not that this piece mentions it for some odd reason but the French did after all threaten to switch off Jersey's electric supply. THAT is not a 'friendly act' and not something people seeking an amicable solution do and THAT was why the two OPVs were sent in. The French are experiencing the pain we felt in the '70s when the CFP destroyed our fishing industry. Let them do what they told us to do back then: "Find another job"

  5.  @hermes6910  All that does not change the fact that 41 trawlers managed to get licences to carry on fishing. So if they can do it why not the rest? No rules were changed unilaterally and whether the French like it or not the UK (and its Dependencies) are now free to manage their coastal waters as THEY see fit. Just feel lucky you have any access at all. The french, Dutch, Spanish and Belgians have been plundering UK waters since the '70s. We lost thousands of jobs and coastal communities never recovered. Now its your turn to know how THAT feels. The EU is just a blustering, protectionist, threatening, incompetent and undemocratic bunch of bureaucrats that cannot tolerate a Nation leaving its political project and so uses every means possible to damage the UK. And Macron is a willing useful idiot in this like the Napoleon Mk II he thinks he is. Well le Pen is coming for him next year. The Eu and France has done this almost every week since January. Vaccines ring a bell? Then it was banking. Now its fish.
