  1. There isn't enough here to critique. I read Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. I agree that Rand argued in favor of self-interest. She detested altruism unless it involved child rearing (arguably not true altruism). She was a confirmed atheist, so her philosophy of "Objectivism" was her only moral compass. And this was her greatest error. Everything she did in life was focused on her desires, often to the detriment of those closest to her. In other words, she used people. There is nothing uncommon in this fact, but it is hardly a ringing endorsement of the woman or her philosophy as practiced.
