There is another problem impacting Germany. They used to have a very good system of small, local banks which were very helpful to small German businesses. (I think they were called "Landesbankes") They were the foundation of the German industry and enabled it to remain stable, through good times and bad. These are now disappearing, being swallowed up by big banks which have far less interest in small customers.

@conservativemike3768 Yes, A global phenomenon driven by the BIS and other big banks. It is the tendency of Capitalist economies to turn into monopolistic economies. It is, so to say, built into capitalism.
