Peter Tait, who was a scientist in Edinburgh in the 1880s, pointed out that when you evaporate water it develops a charge (He put a metal dish of water on the electrode of a gold-leaf electroscope, and showed that it developed a charge while you watched.) If you used copper sulphate solution instead of water, it developed four times more charge in the same time. I don't think anyone has made use of this effect.

610 The purpose of going after Chinese made EVs in Europe (Except Tesla) is to collect Brownie points in Washington.

Yes! Very interesting. Not just for space, but any mobile application of solar power, where weight matters. E.g. Solar charged electric vehicles. Power producing tents for camping in remote places. Electric thrusters for astronauts to be able to move around in space without tethers. Incidentally, I noticed in the pictures shown during your video, there were solar panels which were being automatically wiped clean. Obviously needed for rovers on other planets!

10:12 I understand 85MW and I undrstand 8500MW (85GW), but what does 85MW/8500MW mean?

If you want to go from, say, Shanghai to Beijing or even London to Birmingham, on your electric scooter it will take you quite a while. I saw a while ago, that a man was arrested on the M6 for being on an electric scooter! Brave soul indeed!

@garethrobinson2275 Yes you are right. I was misled by a statement that these new cells were "much more powerful". I did not realize when I wrote that, that they were much more powerful; weight for weight as against area for area. However, if they can be easily folded, you could carry a big area of solar cells in the boot and unfold it when you arrived to charge up your car's battery, perhaps?

Methinks the reason that the US is imposing "steep" tariffs on Chinese solar equipment is less due to fears about "forced labour" (Coming from the country with the largest prison-labour force in the World!) than about fears of competition for Big Oil. Another thing that is going to speed the introduction of renewable energy is the continuing and accelerating research into cheaper and better batteries.

Thank you for the program. A very interesting development indeed!

11:17 "Media driven narrative". Nah! The media, the MSM drives nothing. They are the propaganda arm of the US "Deep State". By which I mean the same group that determines the overall policy of the Collective West. The MSM is controlled on a day-today basis, by the so-called "Integrity Initiative" which was set up by and is run by the CIA/MI6. (Registered office, in a deserted mill on the English-Scottish border.)

From the point of view of the ordinary bod, banning electric scooters is a pest and stupid. From the point of view of the Oil companies, it is a very good idea indeed! Bet you can't guess who has influence with the politicians!

The car manufacturers are Big Business, arnen't they going to pressure governments to backtrack on these new regulations? Perhaps I am being naive, but that is usually what happens when BB feels threatened.

6:45 This is obviously the Chinese reply to the US imposing sanctions on Chinese firms, people and products. They are saying, in effect: "If that's the game you want to play, we can play it too!" Or as the English have it: "Two can play at that game!" It is also a reply to the USG saying "We wand to de-couple from China!" The Chinese are saying : "OK! You want to decouple from us? We will help you de-couple, we will save you the bother!" This is a prize example of what the Chinese call: "Lifting a rock, only to drop it on your own feet."

Interesting program! I would quarrel with only one statement so far, "due to the reduction of gas supplies by Russia" (8:34) This suggests that it was Russia that cut the gas supplies to Europe, when in fact, it was European and American sanctions on Russian gas supplies, German foot-dragging over the licensing of the NS2 pipelines, US/UK sabotage of the Nordstream gas pipelines and Canadian sanctions on the repair of German gas turbines needed by Russia to pump gas to Europe and Ukrainian cutting off supplies of Russian gas to Europe that caused the shortages. Sorry to see your usually reliable program, falling into repeating propaganda.
