  1. 1:23:24 There was a more surprising article in the Daily Telegraph this morning, which seems to have disappeared now, warning people in Britain that the special relationship was a British myth and no help at all to Britain. The article concluded with a statement that the only beneficiary of it was the US. The authoress instanced, as an illustration of her theme, that the US Ambassador to Britain was Job for "chums of and donors to the POTUS", while Britain sent it finest diplomats to Washington to represent Britain. I would not disagree with a word of it, but I was surprised to see such an article in the DT!
