38:44 I made this analogy yesterday (I think it was in comments on one of Alex's pieces) but it seems to me that the position of the West is getting more and more analogous to that of the Black Knight in the Monty Python sketch of the quest for the Holy Grail; where he challenges King Arthur and loses a limb or two and instead of admitting defeat, because he is obviously bleeding rapidly to death, he is insists: "'Tis but a scratch!" I'm waiting for the finale, when the West lies legless and armless on the ground and shouts after the disappearing knights of the round table: "Come back! And I'll bite your legs off!"

@lloads642 So why does Jens Stoltenburg say that : "A defeat for Ukraine will be a defeat for NATO." ? How much more involved would the west have to be before you'd agreed that the west is fighting this war? Ukraine is not a tiny country, it is the largest in Europe. Before the war it had a population of 41 million. For eight years NATO has been training the AFU to NATO standards and it has received, from the west, enormous contributions in modern arms and money that is more than the Russian arms budget for a year, just since March.
