  1. I put this idea forward for discussion, I am not at all sure that it will turn out like this, but I think it is worth discussing. If thing go on as they are at the moment, and the weapons of increasing power and cost (Tanks, fighter jets.) are shoveled into the battle, if the Russians continue to destroy them at the same sort of rate as they are doing at present, (Which seems entirely possible.) then before very long we are going to see a situation where the Western powers are going to be faced with three alternatives. (Other than any nuclear options.) The Ukrainians go down to defeat and the Western powers stand and watch, being now functionally disarmed. Or they commit troops and get defeated themselves. Or they sue for peace from a very weak position. What would happen next?
