The reality is, that you can elect whomsoever you like, you can have anyone at all as PM or Chancellor of the Exchequer and in the end the policy is set by the BoE. (Which is not elected.)

32:30 As I said yesterday(I forget whether it was a comment on a Duran video or yours or Alex's) a government with an "independent" (i.e. privately owned) central bank is in no sense a sovereign government, for the simple reason that such a CB will refuse to fund any policy that does not meet with its approval. As Harold Wilson found out, the hard way. The only way a government can set its own policies is if its treasury controls and issues the money supply. Or to put it another way if the government tells the CB what to do and not the other way round.
