Chamberlain's peace in our time paper was also trying to buy time as UK also were not ready. Hitler extended too far on many fronts and lost, a lesson USA NATO and EU should remember when extending from Europe to Asia v China. The west cannot defend itself from the damage caused by the USA and EU how the hell can they take on China and Russia and hope to win.

Those Merchant Seamen were some of the bravest, and deserved the awards from Russia that were offered but refused for years by the British government (who never suffered at all) until finally many were awarded, and i always recall seeing a few of the veterans with their white berets with pride and respect for them as i had read about the suffering on PQ17 and the Murmansk convoy routes, it was terrible for them and the naval escort ships. How any survived the torpedoing amazes me to this day. My salute to your grandfather and all those brave souls.

  16. While visiting my local vet with my dog, a lady came in with a Great Dane female who was pregnant, the father being a Yorkshire terrier. The height difference was enormous. The vet stood there and smiled. His assistant, a vet in training, scratched his head and said "How?" The son of the lady with the Great Dane, aged about 14 said "I think he used a ladder" Everybody burst out laughing. Many a word said in Jest. But in Bidet's case i totally agree with you.

  27. Cyprus is independent, the SBA's Sovereign Base Areas helped the Greek Cypriots when the Turks invaded, and provided much humanitarian support. They also provide rescue helicopters and some vessels which aid civilians and military. It is a matter of co-operation, trade, tourism, commerce, not colonisation. I disagree totally with the SBA's being used for Israel or anyone to drag Cyprus into another war as was done by Camoron back in c 2012. Cyprus has seen enough violence. I am a Brit myself.

  29.  @TheHungarianOak  Russia has a history of humanitarian aid 2014 to date in Ukraine, and i am being serious, as an OSCE member i have seen the reports of genuine aid (no weapons) to Ukraine's Russian ethnics and also wounded Ukraine soldiers, they have also aided in other places, now they aid people in Syria in yet another war created by the west USA UK EU NATO, and always behind it are formerly PROSCRIBED (outlawed) terrorist groups aided by the west, same as in former Jugoslavia, also fomented by the west and naatsees in Ukraine.

  31. The ww2 nazis escaped to various parts of the world but it did not stop them being nazis at heart. The Ukraine nazis should remember that the Jews hunted down war criminals and still do, RAF hunted nazis for the Great Escape murders, SAS hunted down nazi war criminals for the Moussey and other murderers of SAS troops, that UK and Norway hunted down the nazis who murdered the glider crews that were part of the Telemark operation, and that internationally there are war criminals still being hunted, and there will be those who hunt down the Azov battalions and other nazis in Ukraine.   32.  @JeffreyGlover65  There were Russian actually Soviet Union troops and diplomats in the UK, i know for a fact that some Soviet intelligence officers were dropped by special forces Stirling aircraft after special training in the UK, some were also killed in aircraft that were shot down. Every allied nation had some troops here in ww2, as military attaches and planners, and advisers. There were even Germans in the UK operating with allied forces against the nazis. Ken Adam who worked on many of the James Bond films was a German fighter pilot in the RAF, so was his brother Denis and Peter Stevens who was a bomber pilot. Strange world isn't it

  45.  @vumba1331  He fought on horseback in a famous cavalry charge in a previous war with great courage, he was a true warrior not a paper polluter like BJ and being in the trenches in ww1 when all Regiments had great losses was no picnic. My great grandfather fought on the western front and also Mesopotamia, even saw Lawrence of Arabia, he served from 1915-1921 in some very rough campaigns
