  6.  @richarddoig1865  The comparison to ww2 and now is very thin. I know how ww2 began, it had its seed in the immediate period after ww1, especially Versailles, but also had its conception before 1900. As a senior British General said "Re taking Crimea was the most logical thing Russia could have done to protect his Black Sea Fleet bases" Russia knew Ukraine would pose a problem in the future, in the light of the encroachment of NATO eastwards, braking their agreement 5 times NOT to move eastwards. The people of Crimea seem to be perfectly happy to be Russian again , i have worked with a number in British hospitals, who still have family in Crimea, Russia and Ukraine. Obama, Biden, Nuland had their fingers in the 2014 coup, fact, Biden and Nuland are implicated now. The result being that since 2014 Russian ethnic, Ukraine citizen civilians in Donbas and Lugansk have endured hell at the hands of Poroshenko and Zelensky using military weapons against them, which constitute war crimes under many laws including Ukraine's. One incident in a July day was the shelling by 152 mm artillery pieces, of 100 rounds over a 4 hour period in Donbas alone. OSCE reports which i have had since before 2014 to date show the extent of the abuse of the Donbas and Lugansk regions. Zelensky recently referred to nuclear weapons for Ukraine, an insane idea, i am sure this was one of the triggers for Putin to invade to make sure Ukraine's stock of nucelar materials was reduce by capturing the Chernobyl Nuclear complex which makes good sense to prevent the use in any form by Ukraine's war criminals. Another insanity by Zelensky was the demand for immediate membership of the EU, nobody is afforded that, it is merely a pretext to draw western europe into his propaganda swamp. Chamberlain was not the only politician to make tenuous deals with Hitler, to wish for peace after the slaughter of ww1 was a laudable, if forlorn hope, however he and others had been preparing for a possible conflict from well before 1935, the UK defences were not unprepared. I would prefer Peace anytime to conflict but sometimes it is inevitable. IF and i repeat IF one of Putin's aims was to prevent Ukraine's war criminal leaders from using any form of nuclear device as a weapon or last ditch suicidal act, against Russia which might have gone wrong and affected other European nations including NATO, then he may well have forestalled a nuclear disaster in Ukraine, Russia or Europe, which is to everyone's benefit. Time will tell when the truth comes out. We can only give our opinions. Mine is based on service in two branches of the military and medical experience in many fields including combat medicine (and that includes NBC/CBRN) looking forward to your next criticisms.
