On a side note.. Arbery was clearly looking to steal from the property (again). Certainly doesn't deserve a death sentence but we all know he wasn't "jogging". 🤣

@L3L3L3 why else would you go to a property under construction you don't own more than once? I get "checking it out" on one occasion.. but to go back speaks volumes.

@L3L3L3 what does race have to do with theft on a construction site? You realize this is a common crime committed by people of all color?
3
@L3L3L3 by the way... common sense says that if you weren't there to steal, stopping and providing the OWNERS of the property a quick and simple explanation wouldn't have been an issue.
2
@L3L3L3 the fact Arbery was on a private property he doesn't own, under construction on more than one occasion is a FACT and by no means a racist statement.
2
@L3L3L3 if you're in someone else's house uninvited, then run down the street, you better be prepared to answer questions for the owners and/or police and get it sorted out. The man was not just jogging down the street.. if he was then of course he wouldn't need to answer questions etc. but that wasn't the case. He was in someone else's house and you know you don't just do something like that and run off thinking everything's OK.

@DragonLove225 you realize he's been filmed snooping around the home under construction on more than one occasion, right?? I know runners who poop in bushes and do all kinds of crazy stuff. None have done what Arbery did. Why would he stop there, no bathroom, place to relax etc.? Makes no sense.

@L3L3L3 the owners of the property indicated they DID have items of value stolen from the property.. they were trying to stop Arbery and question him about the theft(s) before he was killed... so in FACT they didn't know for sure Arbery had stolen anything because Arbery never answered them...

@DragonLove225 you're right. What does that have to do with entering someone else's home/property without their permission? 🤔
1
@danielhouse1053 if you saw someone running out of your house, would you give chase and try and stop them to see what they were doing in your home? If you owned a gun, would you grab your gun since you have no idea the intentions of the person who was just in your home for the second or third time without your permission?
1
@danielhouse1053 "my reasoning" by the way was that if you were just a "jogger", why not stop and answer questions? At least wait for the police? He did trespass on private property so addressing questions for the police would have been warranted. As everyone knows, there was no "proof" Arbery stole anything so he would have been free to go but officially trespassed from the property. *Same story with the "children" in your scenario.
1
@danielhouse1053 you don't get it.. if he was just running down the street, he has no obligation to stop. *reasonable articulation was obtained the minute he stepped on private property without permission. FACT

@danielhouse1053 you didn't answer my question. If you saw someone running from your house would you give chase?
1
@danielhouse1053 we can address the gun.. I needed an answer as to whether you'd give chase or not.
1
@danielhouse1053 now for the gun: as you said, "rationalize the situation", I agree with that, and I feel the threat level of the situation is the personal opinion of the individual and the situation. If I saw a grown man (regardless of skin color) running from my house, I'm usually armed so my guns with me and circumstances go from there... leave race out etc. nothing to do with it.
1
@danielhouse1053 in your scenario: if you already had a description of the suspect, had him on video on your property where things have been stolen in the past, the police were already patrolling the neighborhood looking for him, I GUARANTEE you'd be giving chase. No doubt in my mind.
