A Brit & a Frenchman were talking & the British gentleman points behind the Frenchman & says "Germans". Frenchman says "We surrender". The British gentleman says, "that was fast, shouldn't you at least negotiate terms?" Frenchman says "I just wanted to make sure I lived long enough to be able to negotiate terms."

Hey Now, yes you had mentioned that any & ALL of the the other Navies that had surrendered to Germany had refused to give their ships to the Germans & had joined with the RN. And the only thing that you forgot to mention is that ALL of those other Navies had balls. The French- not so much. Ya know the Scott's & the Irish may have worn kilts. The French were wearing dresses mind you. And all that French soil that they just gave away to the Germans ended up having to be fought for and hard won by a lot of Americans, Brits & Canadians. Idk, maybe I shouldn't talk about the French like that but it seems as though they just totally pussed out(for lack of a better description), and like you said ALL of the other Navies had already decided to do their own thing & join with the RN. And maybe the SS could have targeted their families, but you would think their families would be smart enough to avoid such a thing & would want them to continue the fight if possible. Imagine what the French Admirals' son said when asked, "So what did your father do during WW2?" "Oh yeah, my Dad marched into Hitler's office with his head held high, dropped his pants & leaned over his desk and said "Please be gentle."

Hey Now, I know you did this Drydock 4 years ago but I'm going to comment anyway. That thing um ex5cuse me, that French thing right aro x und the 20 minute marker. Is that thing really a warship? When I first vvvvvvvvvsaw it I thought it was like a cartoon castle from the middle ages. And it makes me think they were going to abandon being a moving target & just drop their anchor & slug it out with whatever.

IMHO, Considering how many hits Bismarck was taking without being able to fire back, I really don't see why anyone would bother to give the order to scuttle the ship. And with all the damage that had already occurred I seriously doubt anyone would have bothered to listen to the order to scuttle much less take the time to carry it out!!!
