I’ve lived in a few areas of Japan, and my take is that at least compared to people living in the Tokyo area, Osaka people are less ‘emotionally guarded’. It might translate to friendly…or maybe aggressive, depending on the situation. 😆 From my experience, people in Shizuoka are the friendliest. When I lived there, I was really impressed by how open people were. They just seemed to sincerely enjoy social interaction.

@maegalroammis6020 re-directed through a positivity filter…sure, something like that.

daenackdranils5624 The language barrier is a big thing, I know. It took me quite a few years to be ‘functionally fluent’ in Japan. But from my experience, one’s attitude (towards the culture, learning the language, and just day-to-day interactions with people around us) is the largest factor determining whether we have a positive social experience, in Japan or any country.

@yuu_miran No, only traveled there. It’s a beautiful place though, and the people seemed relatively friendly, I guess. I’ve heard it’s a pretty good place to live.
