  1. Ah, the “friends” issue. Not a big thing but it’s come up for all the international couples I know. I admit feeling a bit left out at first when my girlfriend (now wife) didn’t invite me when she hung out with her friends. And she didn’t really want to hang out with ‘my’ friends. (Because they weren’t ‘hers’.) But after years of marriage (in Japan) we’ve shifted to a comfortable point somewhere in the middle. It all gets easier with time!
