ASide from changing Bismarck to an all or nothing armour scheme you also have to raise her low armoured deck as that was one of her most glaring weaknesses. It left the vital power and communication linces vulnerable to being easily destroyed by hits which may not have penetrated her deck armour. An ANZAC fleet fo that size would have been interesting, Would the Japanese have supported the idea if their alliance with Britain was not cancelled or was replaced at US insistance with an ANZAC/Britain?Japanese pact with a secret 'understanding' they considered the rapacious US as the main opponent. Though it's easy to see the huge US dummy spit at the prospect of that alliance.

@bkjeong4302 That's not a guarantee. You can do an all or nothing scheme and still leave the armoured deck low if you wish. It's up to the designer. There is no law that says you HAVE to mount the deck high, it's just a common sence reaction to the growth of airpower and the increase in the number and importance of power and communication systems. Something the German designers ignored and could still ignore if they want their beloved turtleback which is better for close ranged engagements. After all they never got off their triple screw design despite all the evidence of its flaws.

@bkjeong4302 What rubbish Just because the Germans couldn't BUILD BB's did not mean they weren't designing them on paper like everyone else did. Much like they weren't supposed to have Submarines, they just 'outsourced' the construction of those to other countries. No one was building BB's after the mid 1920's. The Nevada pioneered the AoN scheme and those ships commissioned in 1916 and it is absurd (or typical German excuse making) to say they didn't know about it in the TWENTY years before the Bismarck class was designed. The Germans preferred the graduated armour scheme for a simple reason. It gave more protection against the small guns likely encountered as a typical convoy escort while they were shooting up helpless merchant ships. The German capital ships of WW2 were not built to fight their opposite numbers, they were units of national orestige and merchant ship killers.
