PLA attacked Vietnam as a lesson taught to Vietnam not to built its own imperialist after Vietnam invaded Cambodia and other south east Asian nations. China had helped Vietnam independence from colonialism of the west. But Vietnam later cultivated itself becoming imperialism which is bad behavior. Before the war started Deng Xiao ping visited US and had a talk on purpose of the war because US surely did not agree ,had China took over Vietnam as result. So it just a military campaign in warning Vietnam.

@proud4373 "China's lawless behavior " is US lonely attempts to accuse China. US itself does not recognize UNCLOS 1982. Why does it claim on such standard to justify its desired issue. Don't U think it absurd? By the way, that UN law does not have any context that contrasts to China's reasoning in which China refers to its several islets there in declaring the sea authorities surrounding them. Don't claim on ICC which is again US does not ratify with. You know , this circus court always has monkey judges hidden appointed by your rogue US .
