There does seem to be a large misunderstanding in the other replies, so I'm going to try to sort some things out and see if it helps.
1. Hunters, of all sorts, are one of the largest sources of conservation funds today. Hunters like hunting, and will pay to keep doing it.
2. Legal big game hunting costs a lot of money these days. The tag alone can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, let alone the costs incurred with travel, such as transportation, hospitality, food, guides, etc. Many of these parties are quite large too, as legal hunts are somewhat rare. If we refer to Africa, most countries require the donation of the meat to local villages.
3. The tags for animals chosen have their cost put almost directly into conservation efforts. From both a capitalistic and hunting standpoint this is good. More animals mean more hunts and more tags.
4. The animals selected for legal hunts are often selected by the local conservation group. They will select the older or weaker animals so that the younger animals can move up. To put it another way, there is a semi-recent example of a rhino hunt in which the animal being hunted was an old male. He was "shooting blanks" so his females were not getting pregnant, but he was still viciously defending his harem, preventing younger and more virile males from mating with them. His removal directly benefited the herd.
4b. This directly relates to smaller game hunters, such as in Michigan, where dear population is at dangerously high levels with some frequency. The animals will literally eat so much during the summer that they don't have enough during winter and many will starve to death. During these times the state will sell "unlimited tags" which allow hunters to kill as many dear as they want so as to control the population.
I hope these points have helped to clarify the conversation.

Jimmy De'Souza just remember, they only person responsible for your decidedly hostile attitude is yourself.
Okay, all I've got is you saying it's bad, could you use your little thinking box and rustle me up some sources? Cause I got you one.
Now, ammunition is not just "rattling around" in a magazine. The feed lips and spring keep them in between each other. Maybe you've handled some modern magazines? Well this one works just like that. If the spring was so weak that firing the gun rattled the rounds to the point the rims slipped over each other, it's a bad follower and spring, not a failed magazine design.
Really, you got that I copied from. Wikipedia from literally one sentence? I am actually impressed slightly.
I admit he probably brought it up originally (I entered the actual discussion later), but that thinking stuff means that I know you don't have to be the one to bring something up to mention it.
Now, if that big ol' text wall concerns ya, just one thing: gimme some sources that complain about the Bren that aren't you.

Jimmy De'Souza So swearing and internet shouting and insults aren't hostile? Where did you grow up?
You have just spent literally all day saying it was bad.
Lindy never claimed that it was unstoppable, so you have also been arguing against a straw man.
Alright then "you wouldn't load the magazine full because it would cause feeding problems because the spring was too strong"
Yes, the second was a copy of the source from wiki, but is an accurate quote, and I honestly forgot I had sent it.
First one is unreadable
Second one says the Bren "gained a reputation for reliability" so probably not a good source of it being unreliable.
Third is about the Vickers
I won't continue, this is such a bad start it isn't worth it. Here's Neil Grant, author of The Bren Gun.
“Almost all regarded it as a reliable and effective weapon, and it was striking that when discussing the Bren with veterans who had used it, their first response was almost always the same — a nostalgic smile, and the words ‘It was a great gun, the old Bren …’ or something similar,”.

Jimmy De'Souza From the Wikipedia page:
The 30-round magazine was in practice usually filled with 27 or 28 rounds to prevent jams and avoid wearing out the magazine spring.
The section on the magazine mentions nothing about gravity.
Now, a difference of 3 rounds would likely only reduce the pressure a small amount, and if the full 30 rounds was causing jams, I have to assume it was not a weak spring, especially with it being able to support 500 rounds a minute (8 plus rounds a second).
As for rimlock, if your magazine has that much spare space for the rounds to actually jump the rim of the next round as a regular fault, that would be corrected, especially since the Bren wasn't a desperation weapon, it was developed and that problem could be corrected. This is especially shown by it being known for reliability.
Now, you seem extremely angry about this, and I don't know why. We've been basically cordial. You also disprove your own point when you say we admit Lindy can be incorrect, but then question us instead of yourself.
As for the weapons, they occupied different combat roles and cannot be honestly directly compared, which Lindy also said at the beginning of his talk.
