Mind you this time the tories have excelled themselves, austerity for 13 years, ravaged public services and racked up a record debt of 2.65 trillion. Even before covid it was a record debt of over a trillion. Tories good with money my arse!

  8. ​ @adrianbetts2499 That people aren't arriving here illegally. If you are a genuine refugee you can get to the country of choice by any means possible. You are only an illegal if you are deemed to be not a legal asylum seeker. So until you are processed we don't know the legal status of that refugee.

  9. ​ @adrianbetts2499 Where have you been living the past 13 years.? Due to austerity the tories cut the border staff by hundreds and in doing so allowed the list to escalate to 18 month wait. When they took office it was a 4 to 6 week wait for a decision. All this is of their own making. Less would be coming by boats because if the genuine asylum seekers had a safe route that would mean less small boats. We have record legal immigration under the tories. The small boats equates to 4%of the total.

  12. ​ @adrianbetts2499 UK is a signatory of the UN convention which states anyone arriving in your country by whatever means cannot be deemed illegal until processing has been completed. If found to be not a refugee they cannot apply for asylum.
