  7. ​ @Grandude77 This is correct, the UK is more centrist and left wing than right wing. Every election shows this. Tories at election time poll between 40 and 46% of the voting public, the majority of the public don't want a tory govt. Until Reform was formed (which hasn't been tested in a GE yet) the right wing only have the tories whereas left wing or centre have Labour, Liberal, Greens, SNP thus splitting the left/centre vote. P R woukd virtually guarantee the tories woukd not govern again. In a way it's remarkable Labour have been in power for a third of the time considering the FPP system of elections.

  11. ​ @hg82met Whatever goes wrong in the UK (take your pick from a long list) the thing to remember is it's not the fault of the tories. It's Labour, unions, strikers, immigrants, the E U, lefty lawyers, judges you name it the tories will blame it.

Wars, climate change, pandemics, coalition of countries, inventions, AI, etc. We develop policies to react or to enable said events. Always been the same. This talk about "What is your vision?" is all very well but meaningless in the long run.

  27. ​ @eightiesmusic1984 I define centrist how I want same as you can or anybody else. Some call these present tories left wing, some call them ultra right wing. Depends where you are coming from. I think the present Labour Party isn't left enough, some people call them communist. So there is no such thing as a definite answer or explanation when discussing politics.

The boats are a tiny problem(4% of total immigration), the legal immigration is at this all time high You'd think listening to bonkers Braverman that the tories have just come in to power.

Hence UK at present is a shit show and the debt is at a record high of 2.65 trillion. Cost of living out of control, growth in wages is the lowest since the napoleonic wars and we have record poverty and record NHS waiting lists. Everyone in the UK is affected by govt policies, can't get away from that fact.

  32. ​ @ltmund in the UK a tory govt will spend the money differently to a Labour govt but only to a degree because the day to day running of the country goes on. But the fact remains it's the govt of the day who decides how our money is spent. The only influence the man in the street has is to vote them in or out of office.

  41. Check the polls. Immigration is only 3rd in all the polling companies when it comes to voters concerns. It's cost of living and NHS and immigration is a poor 3rd. It's the tories and people like you who have it wrong. Same about culture wars. It isn't working.

  44. I agree each party have people who will vote for them no matter what. I think (, it's only my opinion) that the tories have more than Labour. I'd say tories have cast iron 30% whereas Labour is at about 26/27%. The rest is made up of the other parties plus the floating voters. It's the floaters who decide the election result. At the moment according to the polls 25% of people are still don't knows.
