@nohandler1493 Russia has the same GDP as Canada and also does not need to import any of those things you mentioned. Canada is a superpower too, according to your definition. There are two kinds of Superpowers "military" and "economic" China and the USA are both military and economic superpowers. Russia is just a military superpower.

@nohandler1493 The British Empire has been in debt for 323 years! It is normal. All those imports from China are what is keeping China from helping Ukraine. They do not want to lose their business with the west. Same reason BRICS will fail...every member does more trade with western countries than they do with other BRICS countries. They do not want to lose that money. The west is firm on supplying everything it is going to take to make Russia lose...they will make the money back in the Ukrainian rebuild.

@nohandler1493 There is no such thing as a "natural superpower" Russia has to develop and bring those resources to market. Then they can be used to exert pressure with them. Problem for Russia is there are other sources. Canada has every resource Russia has. Russia wants to claim half the Arctic. The world said no and that is where it sits right now. Russiaworld is a tricky place and you are believing in it too much. Most of it is misinformation. For example why would you just assume that Russia owns half the Arctic? They don't Canada has the most territorial rights to the Arctic region. So do these guys..Canada, Denmark (via Greenland), Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the United States.
