  2. You can get what's called a car "battery tender," you hook up to the car battery when not in use. You charge it at home on the way to the cabin, or in the vehicle. I don't know specifications for a larger vehicle -- SUV or truck. Vehicles won't charge sitting at idle, check your manual. Most will say reach a minimum RPM (ex. 1500 RPM for my Subaru) while driving to provide ample charge to the battery. Boom.
