  1.  @polemeros  WW2 was the coup de grace The Great War mortally wound this country. Anglo Norman England died on the bloody fields of Flanders. Empires collapse and we managed our collapsed in a bad way. All that wealth of people and gold lost in a war we had no business being in only to give rise too an even deadly second conflict that drained us dry.
