The Turkish citizenship-by-investment in real estate is quite intriguing. The question would be that of how easy it would be to find a competent, reputable, honest property manager to manage the property.

The capital gains tax in Colombia is just 10%.... which is good.... but that low rate might not apply in the case of very short-term holding periods.

@Cuyt24 So what happens with the typical Chinese citizen who gets a second citizenship?

@Cuyt24 So if the Chinese government discovers that a Chinese citizen has acquired a 2nd citizenship, the government will then revoke the Chinese citizenship, along with the right of that (former) Chinese citizen to reside in China. This would then be intertwined with the whole question of capital controls; supposedly it's not all that easy (though not impossible) for a Chinese citizen to get his money out of China.

@torontovoice1 when I wrote that comment, the price of citizenship was only $250K... and a person could pay using bitcoin... and without having to report the transaction to the US government. I'd take those terms right now... if they were still available (which, of course, they are not).
