If you're only going to spend two months per year in the US, it might be worth considering becoming a resident of a "no income tax" state; you could then rent an "Airbnb" house for the summer in Michigan.

I'm interested in the tax angle on this. For example, if a person were to live in a low-tax country like Montenegro for 5 months of the year... but to then reside in, say, Mexico for 4 months of the year, and then Columbia for the remaining 3 months, would the Mexican and Colombian governments be willing to refrain from demanding income tax payments?

@russells9590 I'd be curious to know how things might work for someone who spends exactly four months per year in each of three countries, and who has exactly equal ties to each country (because his income is derived from a corporation that is domiciled in a fourth country).
