  1. I don't see a federal tax on assets coming to the US any time soon. For one thing, there would have to be a significant change in the composition of the Supreme Court in order for them to say that its Constitutional. But for sure, the Democrats want to dramatically increase the "death tax"; and THAT doesn't raise any Constitutional questions. Regarding FATCA, I think that at some point, there'll be a FATCA-type law for cryptocurrencies; the law being that if you own any crypto, and you fail to tell the IRS about it... and the IRS finds out about it... they can nail you with punitive fees (and possibly even prison).
