Just today, Senator Elizabeth Warren announced that she wants to impose, not only a tax on assets (of very wealthy people), but also, a hefty TAX ON PERSONS WHO ARE TRYING TO RENOUNCE their US citizenship. If the left gets control of the US government, we can expect to see more of this over time.
