Patrick Vallance was at pains to point out that his projection shows what would happen if cases continued to increase every 7 days, as they have over the past few weeks. He stated clearly: "this chart shows what would happen if, AND ITS A BIG IF, cases continued to double every week". And he also went on to state: "This is NOT a prediction". Yet all of the people on this program completely ignored the context and went on to ignore what he said. It's therefore not an objective assessment but simply a polemic. Cases are increasing exponentially, as are deaths and hospital admissions. If you think that is a price worth paying, so say. Don't pretend there is no issue.

@DS9TREK The study you refer to is not cases, it's an attempt to calculate the number of actively infected people from a random sample. The actual number of reported cases is growing exponentially. It was on about 4,000 when Vallance was presenting. It's not at 7,000
