They did, however, spend a lot of money gaining the influence of such institutions as the WHO to say such things on their behalf. Their belt & road initiative is working in at least some parts of the world. They are successfully displacing the local economies with a Chinese structure.

The fact that PP is pushing for it tells me the establishment is OK with it. That reason alone should cause you to take a second, more critical look.
