Chrystia Freeland just bashed the GST policy. Will the pumpers in this comment section now acknowledge that the idea is so bad, even the Liberal cabinet ministers think it's a "gimmick"?

@Flloronatto_Foucaulte You have a very selective memory. Yes, the GST was introduced by Brian Mulroney to get the national debt under control, along with the sur tax and a bunch of other taxes. Like it or not, the Mulroney Government was very clear on why they were doing it. The Liberal government under Jean Chretien promised to abolish the GST when they took office as part of the party platform. They never did. And none of this has to do with a temporary reprieve of GST for two months. Never once did the Liberals finally agree to fulfill their promise to completely abolish it. But they sure did sell you on how great it is. Even Chrystia Freeland knows it's nonsense, and you just perfectly illustrated how sad you are when you still defend it.
